1) The format of the import file could be wrong. Export part of the contacts currently available and modify your data to match.

2) Exporting an entire contacts list adds a sort of label as the second line. This line must be deleted before an import. The first line is the column descriptions, the remaining lines must be the import data.

3) The directory is intolerant of duplicates entries and missing fields; specifically, the full name, first name and last name are required.
