![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't make subfolders of folders to organize my email. |
Making subfolders is possible, it just requires some planning.
If you were to create a folder called MyEmailThis translates to an IMAP file. Hence no subfolders can be created inside of "MyEmail". If you created MyFolder/MyWorkEmailThen MyFolder/MyPersonalEmailThis would create a directory of "MyFolder" and two IMAP files "MyWorkEmail" and "MyPersonalEmail". "MyWorkEmail" and "MyPersonalEmail" would store email, "MyFolder" would not, since it is a directory and not an IMAP file. If you then wanted MyFolder/MyWorkEmail/ClientsThis would require rebuilding the folder structure, since an IMAP file cannot be converted to a directory and it cannot hold another file. "MyWorkEmail" would have to change to a directory, making it unable to hold any email itself, though a subfolder next to it could be created, i.e. "MyWorkEmailFolder". Example: creating the following folders MyFolder/MyWorkEmail/Clients MyFolder/MyWorkEmail/Proposals MyFolder/MyPersonalEmail/Family MyFolder/MyPersonalEmail/Enemies MyFolder/Strangers Would result in the following email folders: Clients, Proposals, Family, Enemies, and Strangers. The following subfolders/directories: MyFolder, MyWorkEmail and MyPersonalEmailare incapable of holding email, only folders and other subfolders. address-suppressed, address-suppressed | |
